Super easy vegan hazelnut chocolate
You don’t even need a chocolate mould, just any ice cube mould. When I was looking for chocolate recipes I always found that some of the ingredients are hard to get. I thought it should be possible to make my own with ingredients I have at home. So I started experimenting and found a way to make this super simple and delicious chocolate. I hope you like it as much as I do.
In the video below I mentioned that it takes 2 hours to harden. Actually I found it doesn't take that long, even half an hour or less will do!
The chocolate was delicious and super quick to do.
Just pour the warm chocolate into an ice cube tray and chill in the freezer.
- 100g coconut oil
- 150g ground and roasted hazelnuts
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
Melt the coconut oil (unless it's liquid already) in the microwave for a few seconds or on a stove - be very careful not to overheat it as it will impair the taste (it only needs to melt not boiling)! Pour it into a small blender, add the ground hazelnuts and blend until you get a smooth texture. Then add all other ingredients and blend again (make sure the sugar crystals are dissolved). Carefully pour the mix into ice cream moulds and put into the freezer for the chocolate to harden. I prefer to keep mine in the freezer as it tastes better, but it's also fine in the fridge, it will be a bit softer though. Enjoy your chilled chocolate whenever you feel you deserve a treat (I do feel too deserving sometimes admittedly).
