5 minute recipe: BBQ beans and veggies with instant rice noodles

INGREDIENT:

  • 200g tin of baked beans in tomato sauce
  • Some frozen mixed vegetables
  • Instant (rice) noodle nests
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp tomato puree
  • 1 tsp smokey BBQ sauce
  • 1/3 crumbled stock cube
  • Some black pepper
  • 1 container (e.g. large heat-proof mason jar or tupperware container)

METHOD:

For this recipe I used a jar with a metal rim and metal closing mechanism. If you are using a microwave make sure you are using a container that doesn't contain metal. An tupperware container or mason jar would work well (removing the metal lid if there is one). Health and safety first: make sure it's heat resistant.


Start adding the beans, then some frozen mixed veggies of your choice, then in goes the instant noodle nest and finally all seasoning. Pour some boiling hot water on top and stir. Boom, your meal is ready!


If you are preparing this meal in the morning and taking it to work then there is no need to defrost the frozen veggies first as they should be defrosted by the time you have lunch (unless you work in an igloo). If you would like to instantly enjoy this meal, microwave (or heat up) the veggies first before adding them to the container.
