Meaty tempeh sandwich
You always knew healthy junk food existed, now you have the proof! This sandwich is so delicious and rich in flavour, any meat eater would happily devour it and ask for more.
- 1/2 tsp Sriracha sauce (alternatively mix a bit of ketchup with chili)
- Garlic powder
- 1tbsp paprika powder
- 1tbsp smoked paprika powder
- 1tsp BBQ seasoning
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 100ml orange juice
- A few salad leaves
- Slice of bread
Cut the tempeh into slices (not too thick and not too thin or long as it will break otherwise). Put it into a tupperware container with all the other ingredients for the marinate. Close the lid and turn a few times to make sure the tempeh mixes well with the marinade. Leave in the container for at least 30 minutes (the longer the better for a fuller flavour). Fry the marinated tofu in some oil until it's darkened on both sides. Toast a piece of bread and spread hummus on it, then add a layer of salad leaves, a few slices of avocado and then add the fried tempeh on top. Drizzle some Sriracha sauce on it and dig in!
